The Clock
This is the first story I ever completed, way back in 1992 during my senior year in high school. It’s very short and not very well-written. Essentially it’s about an evil clock that causes people to die. My attempt here was to get some practice in creating ambiance and setting, to get the reader to feel like he or she is in that cabin with grandpa. I was attempting to develop good adjective usage to give it that visual punch. It was also important because I actually completed it. To show my age a bit I originally wrote it in longhand, then typed the entire thing out on a typewriter. Once I entered the computer age I scanned it through OCR then cleaned it up a bit with OpenOffice.
