A Night on the Beach
I read a lot of science fiction and I’ve even written a little. Hard science fiction can be a bit difficult, particularly when expertise in a certain area is required. It can ultimately mean more research, something I hadn’t really taken to back in 1996. A Night on the Beach is a short little story is about a mission to another planet that goes terribly wrong. It’s written from the perspective of the last surviving member of the team from that failed mission; his last memoirs before he dies. My attempt here was to get some practice creating strange creatures and an alien world. I also took the opportunity to be a little philosophical within the setting.
