Back in high school I wrote profusely. I was a prolific poet and cranked out several short stories along the way. In 1999 I finished my first novel. After that my wife and I moved to St. Louis and I began focusing intensely on my career as a computer programmer. I spent some time trying to start another band and then my first son was born in 2005. My second son was born in 2007. Although my free time has dwindled significantly, I’ve done a significant amount of writing in recent years but so much of it wasted on stuff no one ever read.
As I slowly return to creative writing I’ll be writing about writing from time to time. I’d like to chronicle the creative writing process; talk about what techniques and approaches work, what doesn’t, my successes and failures, and other stuff like that.
