About

Me
My name is Brian. I was born and raised in West Virginia and moved to St. Louis, Missouri with my wife in the summer of 2000. Since then we bought a house, started careers, and had two kids. We’re living the American dream.
Right after high school I played guitar in a band called Flood for a couple years. Some of my fondest memories are from those days. I’ve compiled what I have from those days here on the site.
I’ve also done some writing in the past. I’ve written a novel and some other stories. I’ve placed some of the old stuff here on the site for posterity but I’m more interested now in creating new and better works.
I pay the bills now by working as a computer programmer. I specialize in data warehousing.
Eventually I’d like to start another band but right now I just don’t have the time.
I follow no religion or faith but I do subscribe to two philosophical principles: Freethought and the Ethic of Reciprocity (more widely known as The Golden Rule). That’s worked well enough for me this far and I’ve found no compelling reason yet to dilute it with arbitrary rules and unsubstantiated outlandish claims.
I started this site back in 2003. It crawled, it learned to walk, then it ate itself into a bloated, self-serving mass. I purged virtually all of it on September 16, 2009. It wasn’t the first purge the site has seen but it was the biggest. After the purge it became clear that the site needed more of a purpose and should have a different tone that before. Now the site focuses primarily around my old band, my writing, my work in data warehousing, music, and my family. I also throw some random and eclectic personal stuff out there that I think might be interesting to family and friends. That’s about it.
I hope you enjoy the site.
